Lots of time, I’m probably much less dedicated than the other scientists on here – I only work 9-5 monday to friday.

Yes, I get time to see my friends. All jobs require an element of time management and you should have time to do your own things if you are organised.

Being a materials scientist is a job like any other and while many scientists are really committed to their work and can do long hours and weekends we have the same family and social lives as anyone else. I like mountain biking, walking and bird watching (I know its sad) and I like going down the pub with my friends. Basically we are all normal people with great jobs!

definitely YES! I not only do science but also I teach chemistry and biology to students. Apart from that I do work for my husband’s recruitment agency. AND I go out with my friends and on holidays as well. It is all about being a good manager of time (everything) and if you are good at that u can do many things. I enjoy every bit of my life as any other person does. Apart from that I play lot of video games and watch movies ……………so the KEY is TIME MANAGEMENT.
