      I think water is one of the most fascinating things in the world. It covers most of the world and we are made up of mostly water, we need it to live but too much kills us, and it has such amazing properties. The high surface tension means insects can skate on the surface, ice floats on liquid water because it has a lower density, and the stong hydrogen bonds between molecules gives it a high boiling point for such a small molecule.

      It may seem mundane because it’s all around us, but the more you learn about it the more interesting it is…

      I think my favourite things are; (a) that moment you discover something that you know no one else has ever done/known before, (b) the other people and (c) the way it can be used to explain the world around us and to therefore help us all to lead better lives.
